Dodgeball time! I get excited every chance I get to shoot something that has become, truly, one of my favorite sports. I've shot a few events for Elite Dodgeball and the final 2018 National Dodgeball Championship at SkyZone, so it was especially neat to have a chance to learn and capture the collegiate game with NCDA. This time, we visit Grand Valley State University a few hours away in Grand Rapids.
NCDA, the National Collegiate Dodgeball Association, is the tight-knit governing body of collegiate club-level dodgeball. It's run by some great people I've had a chance to work around through other dodgeball leagues, and it was incredible to see another side to the dodgeball community. I've been wearing the event t-shirt they gave me everywhere, and it's led to some great conversations with total strangers.
These are some of my favorite shots over two days of play. Really, it doesn't even scratch the surface, and I can't recommend watching live dodgeball enough, at any level.
As always, I loved having a chance to shoot and provide the coverage of a much bigger team with Mad City. Congrats to 2019 national champs Towson and a huge thanks to everyone who played and planned the weekend!
