Dywer Junction Rest Area, Wyoming, USA

A highway running across a grassy plain, with the large, rocky Laramie Mountains in the background, and the shadows of a sky full of fluffy white clouds reflecting on their peaks.

This was the place I turned around on an almost 2,500 mile drive from Chicago. After not sleeping well for a few days on the road (a a car nap, an overnight dust storm, and a car nap over three days), I found myself here, in southeast Wyoming, staring at the Laramie Mountains, washing my face with freezing spring water as I woke up with a rest area coffee. As happy as I get.
