Bison in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota, USA
Driving out to the Great Plains has been some of the best therapy in my life. This time, I drove from Chicago overnight to suburban Minneapolis, then continued through to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota the next day. I arrived just in time for a dramatic sunset, and spent the next day exploring the park before heading home the next morning.
A short trip, but completely worth it for lots of meditative driving time and moments like this one, looking over bison grazing calmly in the distance, about a million miles from all of my daily stress. I laid in the dirt on an overlook and watched them for a couple of hours.
