The feeling of walking into Plaza Mayor in Madrid is almost indescribable for me. Some of the entrances, like this one, are narrow streets that pass through grand arches into the huge open square of the plaza. You can feel the air and sound shift as you move through into one of the most special places in the world for me. It's a great place to start a day, which is what I was doing here.
